Mere Reflection

(12/28/93)

by: M. V.  Briones

Mere reflection this is:

The fire on the glass.

While the candle flickers aglow-

Blow! Until none there was.

(There once was once,

Then there was none.)

But there was smoke, indeed,

When fire has died and gone.

Like a feather floating, the mere reflection then,

Disappeared like there was none.

(Though never gone,

No, never gone.)
