Funeral for a Grandparent

  1. Write him/her a poem and read it in his/her funeral.
  2. Write him/her a letter and read it in his/her funeral.
  3. Order small balloons or butterflies.  Distribute these to the funeral guests and as they release it together, ask them to say their own prayer for your grandfather/mother.
  4. If the cemetery allows for a little water ceremony, make small paper boats with your grandfather or grandmother’s picture on them.  Distribute it to the guests and, as they let it float on a small pond or creek (if available at the cemetery) ask your guests to say their own prayers for your grandfather/mother.
