Funeral for a Friend:  Teacher

  1. Make a banner with his/her name, signed by her co-teachers and students and ask his/her family to hang it over his casket.
  2. Arrange for every student in his/her own class to say a one-line deed that he/she has personally done to the student; ie. “…for helping me carry my books on the first day of class,” or “…for waiting up with me after school when mom forgot to pick me up.”
  3. Make a scrapbook with all the best memories with your teacher.  If he/she was an art teacher, each student may want to paste his/her own artwork on the scrapbook with a little dedication at the bottom.  Or, if he/she was a music teacher, students may want to make their own song.  If he/she was a science teacher, students may want to paste dried flowers or dried leaves, a bird feather, etc.   Give this scrapbook to the family as means of comfort for their loss. The possibilities can be endless.
